YOU SERVED, WE CARE
Who we are
The YOU SERVED, WE CARE FOUNDATION is a non-profit organization advocating for the well-being of United States Veterans living in the Latin American Region.
The Foundation operates for the exclusive purpose of assisting Veterans and their Dependents living outside of the United States, in the Latin American Region, by providing Veterans Claim Guidance, medical care, training, and education, as well as legal assistance, and other types of services.
To honor and serve the men and women who are America’s Veterans by fulfilling President Abraham Lincoln’s promise: “To care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan.”
Esteban M. Blis – President & Founder
We care, in six different ways:
( 1 )
We Find & We Fund
We search for homeless Veterans and assist them with their clothing needs, and legal services so they may access their hard-earned benefits.
We currently support homeless Veterans in Panama, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Peru. We look forward to expanding our outreach to other parts of the world as well.
( 2 )
We Build Networks
In last eight years, the YOU SERVED, WE CARE FOUNDATION was the only non-profit foundation focusing on the well-being of the Veterans residing in Latin America, and we are working with our partners throughout the region, and beyond.
( 3 )
We have an experienced Board with decades of combined military experience. We feel a continuing obligation to serve our country, as well as to serve those Veterans living overseas.
( 4 )
In the last 8 years, the YOU SERVED, WE CARE FOUNDATION partnered with the Texas Veterans Commission, in order to train our Veterans Service Officers abroad. They are the only Veterans Service officers (VSOs) working outside of the United States.
( 5 )
We Find Medical Care
We have a partnership with Brisas Hospital in Panama City, Panama, the first Private Hospital focusing on the care of U.S. Veterans in Latin America. Our Veterans are very important, no matter where they live, and we offer Healthcare Outreach programs to all, in any country at any time.
( 6 )
We have an ever-expanding relationship with members of the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, as well as the Regional Directors of the Veterans Administration, and leaders of Veterans Organizations.
We ask influential members of public and private organizations to join us in taking care of our Veterans, providing them with the benefits they earned through the many sacrifices they made during their military service to our country.
